Thursday, June 15, 2023: Colleen stopped by first thing this morning and surprised us with a box of cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon to thank us for all that we were doing to help with Ralph. What a sweet gesture!
How's it look? With the clutter gone and the carpets cleaned, ...
...  it's hard to believe it is the same place. These rocker recliners used to belong to Debbie's dad and stepmother and we gave them to Ralph when we cleaned out their condo. It was nice to see them again.
This patio furniture also used to belong to Debbie's dad. We had thought about bringing it home with us, but decided against it. It had seen many Arizona summers and although it had sentimental value to us, it wasn't worth the effort to haul it the thousands of miles to get it home.
The patio looked much better with the excess furniture gone and all of the other appliances removed.
Let's take a tour of the condo in its new state, shall we? Here's the living room, ...
... the dining room, ...
... kitchen, ...
... other end of the kitchen, ...
... the homemade pantry, ...
... the refrigerator in the front hallway blocking the front door, ...
... the hallway to the bedrooms, ...
... the main bathroom, ...
... the front bedroom, ...
... still the front bedroom, ...
... the back bedroom, ...
... still the back bedroom, ...
... the bedroom closet area, ...
... and the bedroom vanity. Not pictured: the back bathroom and shower.
It's pretty well known that Debbie is hard on her cameras. This one gave its life on the photo safari of the newly cleaned condo when it was dropped while she was photographing the pantry. Luckily, we always bring a spare with us since this isn't the first time something like this has happened.
Even though it didn't seem possible, we had gotten the condo into good enough shape for the realty photographer, who stopped by with our realtor at 10:00 to take pictures. After the photographer and realtor left, we celebrated with lunch from Del Taco. We were doing our best to try to be sick of it by the time we left the southwest, but so far, we were still finding it to be very, very delicious.
After lunch, Debbie did some laundry and started packing up things in the kitchen cabinets while Tom cleaned the shed. Unfortunately, we didn't take any "before" pictures of the shed. Huge, huge mistake. Huge. But look at it now! Once the large pile of clutter was removed from the shelf at the back of the shed, we discovered a light switch that turned on the second bank of overhead lights.
Tom moved Ralph's American and Norwegian flags to the pegboard with the small collection of tools that were staying with the condo.
It looks so much better.
The unit was clean and staged, everything else had been hidden behind either cabinet doors or closet doors, and the photographer had come and gone. There was still lots remaining to be done, but we took a minute to celebrate our success with ice cold beers. Cheers!
