Texas 2023:
Day 1 - Tulsa

	Saturday, January 21, 2023: We were eager to get started on this trip and today's drive would be a long one, with more than 600 miles to our destination. We were on the road by 7:30 AM, headed west.
	It's been a while since we traveled west from Indianapolis on I-70 and we were surprised that there was no "Welcome to Illinois" sign after we crossed the state line. We stopped at a rest area near Marshall, Illinois, and decided that the banners hanging from the lampposts were welcome enough.
	We crossed into Missouri around 11:30 AM, ...
	... and saw the Gateway Arch in its full glory under a clear blue sky.
	Around noon, we stopped in Eureka, Missouri, and saw this cone-shaped mailbox for a Spooners Frozen Custard shop on our way ...
	... to White Castle for lunch. Sure, we have White Castle at home, but since we were headed southwest on this trip, there was a limited amount of time before all of the White Castles disappeared. At least, that was our justification.

	Our destination for today was the Will Rogers Downs KOA Journey in Claremore, Oklahoma.
	The rain had stopped before we arrived, and we had plenty of daylight left to get our tent set up.

	... with our full-sized camp chairs and our new, larger table. Our tent is so awesome, and we absolutely love being in it. We relaxed for a while, had our favorite freeze-dried meal for dinner (Spaghetti with Meat Sauce from Mountain House), and went to sleep early after the long driving day. Day 2 >
