Day 16 - London, England |
Sunday, August 2, 2015: We walked down to McDonald's again for another delicious breakfast, ordering exactly the same thing as the day before: Bacon & Egg McMuffin and a Breakfast Wrap. Don't mess with a good thing. |
|
After passing this display multiple times over the previous two weeks, we finally got a good photo of it. We were pleased to see that we had been to most of the destinations shown.
We passed the Central Bus Station for the last time, ...
... and got one more view of that gigantic sculpture outside of Terminal 2.
We had been in this same terminal eight months earlier and taken nearly the exact same photo.
This time, we got a closer view of this excellent sculpture, ...
... and of this one. | |
Just like last time, it was a very long distance between the main terminal and the gate where we'd be leaving from.
Fortunately, the hallway features lots of Heathrow and royal history for entertainment while on the moving walkways.
Movies show the various terminals being opened, with various royalty performing the honors.
We still had some British pounds left, so we bought ourselves some sandwiches and Thai chilli-flavored potato crisps for lunch and loaded up on some last minute goodies, like a large tea assortment and some huge Aero and Cadbury bars.
This is not our airplane. Ours was delayed by over an hour, so we missed our connecting flight in Dulles.
Our missed connection gave us five hours to enjoy some delicious American hamburgers from Fuddruckers. Sadly, our replacement flight was also delayed, so instead of arriving home around 7:00 PM Indy time, it was well after midnight, but we're happy to report that our luggage made it home too. ** THE END ** |
