Saturday, June 29, 2002: We arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark and were transported to the ship. Having only seen the Copenhagen airport on previous trips to Scandinavia, it was nice to actually see a little of the city this time.
Within 10 minutes of arriving on the bus, we were checked in and escorted to our mini-suite on the Holland America Noordam. There was still over an hour before the ship sailed, so we headed out for a sunny stroll along the Copenhagen harbor.
A short 10-minute walk through a pretty park along the docks took us to the world-famous Little Mermaid statue. I've seen this statue in photos many times, and now we've finally seen her in person.

I never had any idea of where the Little Mermaid statue was located in the harbor, so I also took a photo of its surroundings. Now you know where it is, too. Behind us is the city of Copenhagen, and in front of us, in the direction the mermaid is gazing, is the Baltic Sea. Let's go there, shall we?
